I am a Christian

(Baptized) I gave my life to God as a teenager, and though I was not fully focused and forthright with my spiritual life, I ensured that my actions would reflect my undying love for Jesus Christ. It was very difficult being a young Christian grown up around families and friends who did not share the same passion that I had for Jesus. You see, friends I didn't seek Jesus, He seeks me by dying on the cross for my sins!

(Special) I was told by my mother on several occasions that I was selected by God from the womb, and when I became a Christian it was not much of a surprise to her as she told me many times that I was a special child, not really understanding her term of "special", I continued to explore the new ventures of being a Seventh Day Adventist Christian, and all the challenges it came with.

(So called friends) Simultaneously, I had started to lose close friends who became unfriendly towards me once I announced that I got baptized and answered the calling of Jesus Christ. It was a painful experience, but Jesus assured me that He would be my best friend and that's all the friend I will need, for He will not turn on me because we don't see eye-to-eye about life and personal goals; He gave His promise, "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:20

(Called to service by God) My life in the Seventh Day Adventist church is not an easy journey and will never be an easy one, when you're called to service by God, similar to a soldier who is called to battle; you must not look at others but look to Jesus, as your Saviour. Today, not many young men want to be used by God, the lust of this wicked and material world has brought Christian men to their knees and many have allowed PRIDE to weaken their relationship with Jesus, thus they are powerless to fight off the attacks of the devil.

(Faith like Job) My faith in Jesus has allowed me to overcome many hurdles and rejections from families, so called Christian friends, co-workers and people in general. But like Job, I refused to blame God and please people instead, people who are only in my life for my success; Jesus is there all the time for me, whether my life is up or down, He is there with His arms open wide.

I have lost many material things in my life, but my faith in God restored all those things, because God saw that I was not in love with these material things, but in love with Him; they were placed there for my convenience not to worship them. Let our faith in God be our number one focus in our Christian journey.
